Jenny McCarthy never shied away from a bold outfit and her 2019 Emmy Awards look was no exception.
The Masked Singer judge entered the purple carpet and wore a strapless blue dress. She fitted the bright number with a studded belt and pursued combat boots. The high-low-rock emphasized her footwear and gave the entire ensemble a tough girl attitude.
However, one essential element was missing – her husband, Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg. The actor was not at her side, but he supported her as she hosted the Fox pre-show. He wrote on Twitter that he would be prepared for their Emmys interviews, which caused more than a few unpleasant moments.
The fans were particularly excited about her interview with Christina Applegate, the star of Dead to Me. She did not look pleased when Jenny suggested that this was Christina’s first Emmys nomination (see the worthy clip here).

According to IMDb, McCarthy has worked as a model, actress, podcaster and talk show host. Known for her roles in Scream 3, Scary Movie 3, The Drew Carey Show and her short-lived sitcom Jenny, McCarthy also co-hosted ABC’s The View in 1997. She wrote quotes for the anthology “Ladies Who Punch: The explosive insider story of ‘The View'” author Ramin Setoodeh, which was examined by her former panel colleagues.
Now, McCarthy is hosting a daily talk radio program titled “Dirty, Sexy, Funny” on Sirius XM and has been a panelist on Fox ‘The Masked Singer since its launch earlier this year. Some fans know McCarthy’s connections to other celebrities, including cousin Melissa McCarthy and husband Donnie Wahlberg.
Embarrassing with Applegate
McCarthy was one of many who had a microphone on the red carpet at the 2019 Emmy Awards, hoping to get a few good sound bytes from a celebrity. When it was time to interview Christina Applegate, nominee for Outstanding Leading Actress in a comedy series for Netflix’s Dead to Me, things got a bit uncomfortable.
Applegate has quite a few references in her name, including her role as Kelly Bundy in the infamous 90s Fox sitcom Married With Children, her former ABC show Samantha Who? as well as her guest appearance at Friends. These roles seem to have come to McCarthy’s mind as it turned out that the following conversation with Applegate was different.
